Teaching
Children’s
Literature
Researching how children’s literature is taught, read, discussed and brought into relation with the educational world.
Overview
A field of inquiry shaped in the classroom.
Children’s literature carries stories, knowledge and cultural memory across generations. Its university teaching calls for sustained attention to texts, images, readers, mediators and the settings in which reading takes place.
LETIN studies contemporary practices in teaching children’s literature across higher education. Literary criticism, history of education, visual and aesthetic literacy, reading education and environmental humanities meet in teaching formats that connect critical interpretation with professional and civic questions.
