Maria Caracausi

Maria Caracausi is a Professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Palermo (Italy), where she teaches both Medieval and Modern Greek Philology. She directs the series of Greek Literature entitled Gli Agapanti of the publishing house ‘Le Torri del Vento’ (Palermo). She also founded and directs the series ‘NIATA’, in the publishing house of ‘Palermo University Press’, where young graduates and doctoral students of Greek literature publish their translations from Greek into Italian. Maria Caracausi has significant publications, translations and edited volume sin Italian, Greek and English. Her Italian translation of the Greek poet Andrea Calvo’s Odes was awarded in 1989 by the Greek Society of Translators of Literature.
