
Johari Imani Murray
Johari Imani Murray is an African American PhD candidate at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Spain. Her dissertation about children’s literature and the narrative self is co-directed by Dr. Carmen Martínez Roldán from Teachers College, Columbia University and Dr. Kira Mahamud Angulo from UNED. A member of the lRSCL and the ChLA, Johari has presented on and taught about language and literacy. Before becoming an educational entrepreneur, she earned her BA from Manhattanville College in English and psychology and her MA in Deaf Education and Bilingual Education from Teachers College Columbia University.
