Chiara Malpezzi holds a PhD in Children’s Literature and is a member of the Research Group LETIN UNIPD (University of Padua).

She is currently involved in the national research project BIBI – Educational Intervention Program for Gender Awareness through Biographies and Biofictions for Young Readers, which explores the potential of biographical narratives to foster gender equality and inclusion in educational contexts.

Her most recent contributions feature studies on biography’s critical theory (Strenae, 2025), the evolution of gendered imaginary in Italian biographical series (Italica Wratislavensia, 2025), the history of female biography in Italy (Bookbird, 2024), ecofeminist biographies (in Cagnolati & Petruzzi, Eds., 2024), and nonfiction about female scientists (MeTis, 2023).

With Rosalyn Borst and Krzysztof Rybak, she has co-initiated Grow, a project that aims to promote dialogue and collaboration between young scholars and scholars of children’s literature at international level.
